Sparring Bye System
This applies to Little Ninja Flag Sparring, Padded Weapons, Point Sparring, and Continuous Sparring.

This system allows the matches to come to 1 winner regardless of the number of competitors. This is a single elimination system which means that once a competitor loses a match, they are done with that division.  There are two exceptions.
1. If the competitors are competing for 3rd and 4th place.
2. If the competior received a random BYE when the division was put together.  This does not apply to every competitor that receives a BYE. 

We try to keep our division less than 12.  A "Bye" is something that is issued randomly to a competitor to create the outcome of one winner.  A "Bye" is like winning a match withough actually have to participate in one.
This system is used throughout the entire world for sport karate.
