DRESS CODE

1.) No street shoes, street sneakers, or socks allowed in the dojo. 
       * Special training sneakers or bare feet only
2.) All White Gis
       *Black Belt Team Members may wear Black Gis
       *Masters Team Members may wear Black or Blue Gis
       * Black Belts may mix colors
3.) Any AKKA- Shirt with Gi pants & Belt
       * Full Gis are required for tests.
       * Uniforms must be clean at all times.
4.) Patches - students may wear any appropriate patch in any proper location in accordance to the following 
      * All ranks are required to wear an A.K.K.A. patch with correct side up over heart side of their chest.  
Proper Placement of the AKKA Patch 
      * Yellow Belts & up are required to wear an American Flag patch on the left sleeve(military style) 
      * All instructor patches are worn on the left sleeve below the American flag 
      * Sports Award patches are worn on the right sleeve
      * Black Belt Team patches are worn on the right hand side of the chest
      *Master Team Patches are worn on the right hand side of the chest
      *Other patches are allowed any appropriate place on the uniform
5.) Male students of Intermediate rank or above are required to wear a protective cup during all classes.
6.) No jewelry is allowed in class due to safety for yourself and others.

BOWING
1.) Always bow into the dojo when entering or exiting the main entrance to show respect for the dojo.
2.) Always bow to anyone you are working with to show respect for each other.
3.) Bow to an instructor that has helped you as a sign of gratitude.

KNEELING

1.) Always kneel down on the right knee whenever you put on or take off your belt and avoid letting your belt touch the floor to show respect for your rank.
2.) When in the Dojo, Kneel down on the right knee when a class is meditating and remain silent.

GENERAL RULES

1.) Instructors are always addressed as Sir or Mam.
2.) If you arrive late for your class, remain at the dojo entrance in front position an wait to be recognized and bowed in by one of the Black Belt Instructors.
3.) When entering the dojo during class time, always go behind the class to change and/or line up.
4.) No food or gum chewing is allowed in the dojo.
5.) No profanity is allowed anywhere in the studio. 
  

Lobby Rules

These rules are for the benefit and safety of the students taking class and others in the lobby.

1.  Keep noise level low.

2.   Young children are to be supervised at all times. *Parents are responsible for any damages.  If parents are unable to control children in the lobby, then they will be asked to leave.

3.  NO coaching or instructing from the sidelines!

*This creates discomfort to everyone in the class and lowers the self esteem of your child. Address any concerns to the staff during off-class time.  Repeat violators will be asked to leave.

4. Instructors are not to be disturbed during class unless for an emergency.

5. Street shoes off and bow in if entering the dojo.

No shoes or coats are to be left in the lobby.

6. Ask about things that you do not understand instead of criticizing.
